The Imperative To Forgive
In Response To Official Congressional Apology, for the sake of the nation of immigrants and chattel slaves, it is imperative that We the People Act NOW
Authority of Forgiveness
The Obligatory Apology to Black Lives by White Lives
The Obligatory Forgiveness of White Lives by Black Lives
After 145 years of demanding, but not expecting, on June 26, 2008, even before the present POTUS was nominated to be his political parties nominee for the Presidency, in a surprise and secret move, the US House of Representatives followed 8 months later on February 3, 2009 by the US Senate, representing 1/3 of the federal government on behalf of We the People, secretly enacted a Resolution Apologizing for Slavery and Jim Crowism
In fact, just 3 years prior, the US Senate moved to enacted another similar, secretive Resolution Apologizing for the Lynching of freed chattel slaves, freemen and their descendant children, i.e., American, black US citizens.
The Greatest Secret In the Matter of Black and White Lives In US History
While there was enacted a long for, acknowledgement-apology by the US Congress, there was no such responsive enactment by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), nor even acknowledgements and admonitions to congregants from and by various Christian-churches in the African-American community.
Though finally, after 145 years of waiting, as demanded, the biggest agitation of the black-white lives matter since the Civil War was officially addressed by the US federal government, however, surprisingly, there was no celebrations joy for justice!
Where there should been wide acclaim, there was deafening silence, and even deliberate rejection by some African-American leaders claiming that the word “Reparations” was not mentioned, and that the Resolution “didn’t go far enough”, therefore rejecting it and further endangering the security of black lives.
In fact, upon close examination, the Apology, it was in 2008, as it is now, there was/is to be immediate implementation of the reconciliation measures called for.
Whereas a genuine apology is an important and necessary first step in the process of racial reconciliation;
Whereas an apology for centuries of brutal dehumanization and injustices cannot erase the past, but confession of the wrongs committed can speed racial healing and reconciliation and help Americans confront the ghosts of their past;
Resolved, That the House of Representatives—
…expresses its commitment to rectify the lingering consequences of the misdeeds committed against African-Americans under slavery and Jim Crow and to stop the occurrence of human rights violations in the future.
Such neglect, either benign or malicious, of the long-for resolution to the matter black lives of chattel slavery-Jim Crowism, has sorely endangered our relationship with the GOD Whom we say we worship.
The Consequences of Neglect
Apparently, for some reason, due to Congress in conjunction with certain African-American, political-governmental and most importantly, clergy leaders (who first should have recognized this divine gift of repentance), the vast majority, perhaps circa 99% of US citizens, both black and white lives are still unaware of it.
Consequently, we suffer increased, perplexing and chaotic, racial unrest, in accordance with precepts of the Hebrew Holy Scriptures (both Testaments”, i.e., Bible), that GOD generally doesn’t excuse ignorance in the matter of repentance and forgiveness, but requites judgment and justice where it is due.
Due to our inability through ignorance, we have been denied the responsibility to respond in kind to the Apology, consequently, it appears that our prayers for forgiveness and blessing have not been heeded by our Heavenly Father.
There Is Timely Hope
However, perhaps, for some timely reason, this Apology was hidden as GOD’s own timing in order to demonstrate a point about the power of forgiveness, especially now in this ever present and heated, racial environment we need and ready to experience such kindness. Sometimes, there must be darkness before the star-light can be appreciated.
The Proclamation of Forgiveness in response to the 2008-2009, official, Congressional Apology Resolution is a major step towards that for which We the People have longed for since July 2-4,1776
“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if you forgive not others of their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.” [James 5:16]
The Supernatural Power of LOVE To Forgive –
Supersedes the Natural Tendencies To Hate or Be Vengeful
Jesus-Yeshuah says that we are to Love HIM and our neighbors as ourselves in a triad relationship in which one is invalid without the other two.
Note: Love in original Grecian term is AGAPE, meaning how GOD views human beings equally and desires good for them all. GOD is Love! [I John 4:8]
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” [Mathew 22:37-40]
Forgiving others is a hard, but powerful “game-changing” act that supersedes natural human inclinations of resentful, counter reactions of revenge to those who trespass against us.
This power to LOVE and forgiveness is generated via first loving GOD as HE Loves us, by which we subsequently transmit that same to our neighbors…and even enemies as well as friends.
